American Airlines Expands Its Presence in Europe from Miami

Date:

American Airlines has announced the expansion of its European network from Miami International Airport (MIA). Starting in the summer of 2025, the airline will begin offering direct flights to Rome, Italy, and increase its frequencies to London. This expansion will provide travelers with access to more than 155 destinations in 45 countries from Miami.

Details of the New Flights

The new service to Rome Fiumicino (FCO) will begin on July 5, 2025. Additionally, American Airlines will offer two daily flights to London Heathrow (LHR). With this addition, the airline will offer a total of five European destinations from MIA. These include continuous services to Barcelona, Paris, London, and Madrid.

Commitment to Regional Growth

Daniella Levine Cava, Mayor of Miami-Dade, highlighted the significance of this expansion, stating that it reflects the county’s growth as a key bridge between North America and Europe. “We are grateful to American Airlines for its continued commitment to the Miami market,” said the Mayor.

A Testament to Success

Juan Carlos Liscano, Vice President of Operations for American Airlines at MIA, emphasized that this expansion is a reflection of the airline’s commitment to the region. “We are operating our largest recorded program, with over 400 daily flights,” said Liscano. This growth allows customers to enjoy an unparalleled global network.

Exclusivity on European Routes

American Airlines is the only U.S. carrier offering direct flights to Charles de Gaulle (CDG) in Paris and Fiumicino (FCO) in Rome from Miami. This highlights the airline’s unique position in the transatlantic market.

American Airlines’ expansion not only benefits travelers looking to explore Europe, but also strengthens the connection between Miami and the rest of the world. With new flights and a renewed focus on growth, the airline positions itself as a leader in the international air travel sector.
